Average : From vines of more than 10 years old.
Growing : Ecologic treatment (not organic).
Harvest: Mechanic harvest. Selecting table (hand picking).
Vatting : in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks.
Ageing: Traditional for 18 months of which 12 months in French oak barrels which are changed quarterly. Wines aren’t filtered just clarified and fined with dehydrated egg white.
Production 80 000 bottles. Château bottled.
Tasting Château Macay is a nice ripe wine with generous aroma of blackcurrant, cherry, prune and pleasant woody hints. It’s all about roundness, fruit and balance. With its silky tannins and attractive body, this Côtes de Bourg is concentrated and luxuriously long.
Best between 3 and 8 years. May be kept up to 10 years.
